Heaven: An Investment Worth Investing In
Gene Smith's message from our second session on Sunday, December 28th 2025
This powerful message confronts us with an urgent question: where are we truly investing our lives? Drawing from Matthew 6:19-21 and John 14, we're reminded that earthly investments—stocks, careers, possessions—are subject to decay, corruption, and loss. The sermon recounts sobering stories of financial collapse and suicide, illustrating how temporal wealth can vanish overnight. But there's an investment that never fails: heaven itself. Jesus didn't just promise us eternity; He prepared it personally, enduring betrayal, torture, and crucifixion to secure our place in His Father's house. The mathematical breakdown of heaven's dimensions—15 miles in length, width, and height, with room for over 8 trillion people—helps us grasp the magnitude of what awaits. Yet the true treasure isn't the square footage; it's the promise of no more tears, pain, death, or sorrow. We're challenged to make our investment today—not through a New Year's resolution, but through immediate repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and being filled with the Holy Ghost. Prayer, Bible study, fasting, and soul-winning aren't religious obligations; they're deposits into an eternal account that guarantees a return. The urgency is clear: tomorrow may never come, and our mansion is almost ready.
