The Great AI: Almighty Immanuel

Dec 21, 2025    Bishop Mark Cottrill

Bishop Mark Cottrill's message from our second session on Sunday, December 21st 2025

This powerful message challenges us to move beyond artificial intelligence and discover the true AI—the Almighty Emmanuel, Jesus Christ. Through a creative exploration of Philippians 2:6-8, we're reminded that God didn't remain distant in His heavenly glory but chose to morph from spirit to flesh, stepping into human history as a baby in Bethlehem. The sermon brilliantly unpacks the Greek meanings behind words like 'express image,' 'form,' and 'begotten,' revealing that Jesus wasn't just a third of God or a symbol—He was 100% God in bodily form. The message connects three pivotal moments: at Bethlehem, God became God WITH us; at Calvary, God became God FOR us; and at Pentecost, God became God IN us. This progression isn't just theological history—it's our personal invitation. We're living in houses where the power has already been restored, but we must flip the switch. The electricity of salvation is flowing, ready to flood our darkness with light. The call isn't to work harder or be good enough, but to respond to what God has already done. Through repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and receiving the Holy Spirit, we can leave the darkness of confusion, depression, and sin behind. This Christmas season, the question isn't whether God has come—He has. The question is: will we flip the switch and let His light transform every corner of our lives?
